The second Efficient, sustainable and inclusive energy use call from the Horizon Europe “Climate, Energy and Mobility” Cluster will officially open on 6 September 2022.

Overall, the two calls contain 10 topics for an indicative overall budget of €140 million. Below is the detail of the two calls:

The call contains the following 5 topics, for a total budget of €54 million:

HORIZON-CL5-2022-D4-01-01: Demand response in energy-efficient residential buildings
HORIZON-CL5-2022-D4-01-02: Renewable-intensive, energy positive homes
HORIZON-CL5-2022-D4-01-03: Smarter buildings for better energy performance
HORIZON-CL5-2022-D4-01-04: Development and pilot demonstration of heat upgrade technologies with supply temperatures in the range 150-250°C
HORIZON-CL5-2022-D4-01-05: Development of high temperature thermal storage for industrial applications

Topics open on September 6, 2022 and will close on January 24, 2023.

The tenders fall within the Destination 4 – Efficient, sustainable and inclusive energy use aims to finance energy demand-side projects, focusing in particular on more efficient use of energy for buildings and industry. It supports the use of digital technologies that will enable buildings and industrial facilities to become interactive elements in the energy system, optimizing energy consumption, distributed generation and storage.

The overall objective of the cluster is to accelerate the dual green and digital transition of the European economy, industry and society in order to achieve climate neutrality in Europe by 2050.
