€40 MILLION FOR THE NEW CALL FOR THE RESEARCH FUND FOR COAL AND STEEL (RFCS) MANAGED BY THE REA

A new call has been published under the Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS), which will be managed byEuropean Research Executive Agency (REA). This announcement is part of the Work Program 2024 and aims to support innovative projects in the coal and steel sectors.

Regarding the coal sector, the call aims to support the green transition, improve health and safety in the sector and minimize the environmental impacts of coal mines in transition.

In the steel sector, the call aims to support low-carbon steel production and finishing processes, promote sustainable resource management and improve workforce management and working conditions in the sector.

The tender has a total budget of € 40 million, divided into 6 topics:

  • RFCS-2024-01-AM Coal Accompanying Measures. Budget: €1 million.
  • RFCS-2024-01-RPJ Coal Research Projects. Budget: €7 million.
  • RFCS-2024-01-PDP Coal Pilot and Demonstration Projects. Budget: €2.88 million.
  • RFCS-2024-02-AM Steel Accompanying Measures. Budget: €1 million.
  • RFCS-2024-02-RPJ Steel Research Projects. Budget: €20.5 million.
  • RFCS-2024-02-PDP Steel Pilot and Demonstration Projects. Budget: €7.62 million

They can participate legal entities (Research Institutions, Large Companies, SMEs, Researchers, etc.) carrying out R&D activities based in one of the EU Member States, in a non-EU country or in a country associated with the RFCS or countries that are in ongoing negotiations for an association agreement.

The deadline for submitting your proposal through the EU Funding & Tenders Portal is set at September 24, 2024.
