Iniziativa alongside the strategic development of the airport sector
The airport sector today represents a fundamental pillar for economic competitiveness at national and European level. According to the latest study published by ACI Europe, the sector generates an overall economic impact equal to 5% of European GDP, supporting over 14 million jobs and contributing significantly to exports, tourism, research and social cohesion.
As highlighted by Marco Messina, Partners of Iniziativa, in an interview given to The newspaper, «at a national level, the airport system confirms itself as a strategic asset for the GDP, employment and competitiveness of the country». A role further strengthened by the volume of infrastructural investments: each euro invested in the sector in fact generates an economic return equal to 3,2 euros of added value, with an overall impact estimated at over 27 billion euros in terms of GDP, employment and tax revenue (source: Rosario De Maio, Partner Iniziativa).
In this scenario, Iniziativa had the opportunity to contribute concretely to two significant operations:
Chamber of Commerce of Bologna – as advisor in the acquisition of a further 4% stake in the capital of Guglielmo Marconi Airport in Bologna, taking care of the preparation of the appraisal report of the value of the infrastructure;
Rome Airports (ADR) – supporting the assessment of strategic participations in infrastructure governance.
These assignments confirm the solidity of our expertise in Corporate Finance and the team's ability to Iniziativa to generate concrete, measurable impacts oriented towards the sustainable development of the country system.
