New calls for proposals from the Digital Europe programme are coming soon: focus on AI, digitalisation, big data, and virtual reality.

The Digital Europe programme has published new calls for proposals, which are scheduled to open on 4 November 2025. The publication of these calls follows the first amendment to the Work Programme for the two-year period 2025-2027.

The nine calls for proposals within the programme DigitalEurope They focus on harnessing the potential of artificial intelligence and big data, completing the network of European Digital Innovation Hubs, implementing the EU Digital Identity Portfolio, driving innovation in the automotive sector, supporting digital skills, and implementing digital solutions for the public sector.

On digital skills, the topics will be:

  • European Advanced Digital Skills Competitions: DIGITAL-2026-SKILLS-09-COMPETITIONS DIGITAL. Coordination and Support Actions;
  • ELEVATE: European League of Advanced Digital Skills Academies: DIGITAL-2026-SKILLS-09-LEAGUE-OF-ACADEMIES. DIGITAL Coordination and Support Actions.

On the use of advanced technologies, the topics concern various sectors of society.

For the scope automotive:

  • Secretariat of the European Connected and Autonomous Vehicle Alliance: DIGITAL-2026-AI-09-ECAVA, DIGITAL Coordination and Support Actions;
  • Collaboration platform for the European connected and autonomous vehicle of the future: DIGITAL-2026-AI-09-AUTOMOTIVE. DIGITAL Simple Grants.

In support of the Public administrations:

  • Apply AI: GenAI for the public administrations: DIGITAL-2026-AI-09-GENAI-PA. DIGITAL Coordination and Support Actions.

On the reality and virtual worlds:

  • Virtual worlds test beds: DIGITAL-2026-AI-09-VIRTUAL-TESTBEDS-STEP. DIGITAL Simple Grants.

Within health:

  • Health: Data ingestion capacities and data services for the European Genomic Data Infrastructure in the European Health Data Space: data tools: DIGITAL-2026-AI-09-DS-HEALTH-TOOL. DIGITAL Simple Grants;
  • Health: Data ingestion capacities and data services for the European Genomic Data Infrastructure in the European Health Data Space: data storage and processing capacity: DIGITAL-2026-AI-09-DS-HEALTH-STORAGE. DIGITAL Grants for Procurement;
  • Deployment of cutting-edge multi-modal AI-based solutions in medical imaging: DIGITAL-2026-AI-09-SOLUTIONS-CANCER-STEP. Digital EMS Support Actions.

For the production:

  • Data Space for Manufacturing: DIGITAL-2026-DSM-AI-09-DS-MANUFACTUR-STEP. Digital EMS Support Actions

for networks that contribute to implementing the Program:

  • Supporting the Network of National Contact Points (NCPs) of the Digital Europe Programme: DIGITAL-2026-SUPPORT-09-NCP-NETWORK. DIGITAL Coordination and Support Actions;
  • European Digital Media Observatory Hubs: DIGITAL-2026-BESTUSE-TECH-EDMO-09-HUBS. Digital EMS Support Actions

For European Digital Innovation Hubs – EDIH:

  • Completion of the initial Network of European Digital Innovation Hubs: DIGITAL-2026-EDIH-AC-09-COMPLETION-STEP. DIGITAL Simple Grants;
  • Consolidation of the Network of European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs with reinforced AI focus): DIGITAL-2026-EDIH-EU-EEA-09-CONSOLIDATION-STEP. DIGITAL Simple Grants.
