EUP OHAMR, the European Horizon Europe partnership focused on antimicrobial resistance (“AMR”), will launch the November 18, 2025 the call for proposals “New treatments to tackle AMR”: Treatments and adherence to treatment protocols”. The call for proposals is co-financed by the European Union.
EUP OHAMR brings together 53 organisations from 30 EU countries and beyond, providing joint support for research and innovation and mobilising to address the challenges of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) with a One Health approach.
This first EUP OHAMR call aims to improve the success rates of treatment of patients/animals/plants affected by bacterial or fungal infections, offering new treatment options while reducing the risk of resistance in different contexts. One Health.
Research and innovation proposals submitted under this call must address one of the following topics:
- Identify and develop new combination treatments using antimicrobials existing or innovative antimicrobials with additional treatments to extend drug efficacy and combat resistance;
- Develop tools and methods for improve adherence to treatment protocols;
- Assessing the impact of antimicrobials for veterinary and agricultural use on the risk of transmission of AMR to humans and the environment to inform policies on the restriction of certain antimicrobials for human use.
The consortium must include a minimum of three (3) eligible partners requesting funding from three (3) different eligible countries (of which at least two are EU Member States or associated countries). It may include a maximum of six (6) project partners (including non-funded partners), but the maximum number of partners may increase to seven (7) if the consortium includes:
- at least one partner from an underrepresented country or
- at least one partner where the principal investigator meets the definition of an early career investigator or
- a start-up, an SME or an industry.
The call involves 36 funding organizations coming from 28 different countries and has a total estimated budget of over EUR 28 million.
