New cybersecurity calls open: €50 million available to promote cybersecurity in the EU

Lo European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC) has published four new calls under the programme DigitalEurope with the aim of strengthening the security and resilience of Europe's digital infrastructure.

Areas supported by the calls include AI-based cybersecurity solutions, support for the adoption of new IT tools by SMEs, EU cybersecurity readiness testing, and the development of new regional submarine cable hubs, which are critical to the security of energy and digital networks.

Specifically, the calls are as follows:

  • CYBER-09-CYBERAI The call aims to incentivize the development and implementation of AI-based cybersecurity solutions to improve threat detection, incident response, and threat intelligence, while ensuring security and compliance with EU regulations, such as the AI ​​Act and GDPR. For this call, ECCC has allocated a total budget of EUR 15 million.

 

  • CYBER-09-UPTAKE: with an overall budget of EUR 15 millionThis call promotes the adoption of proven cybersecurity solutions by SMEs by facilitating access to them, offering financial incentives, and supporting their integration into business operations.

 

  • CYBER-09-COORDPREP: ECCC prepares an overall budget of EUR 10 million to make stress test, simulations and other coordinated preparedness actions to strengthen the capacity of critical infrastructure operators to prevent and respond to cyber incidents.

 

  • CYBER-09-CABLEHUBSEUR 10 million to strengthen the cybersecurity of submarine cable hubs, physical and strategic access points, protecting them from espionage, sabotage and malfunctions.
