EP PerMed: €38 million coming for personalized medicine

On November 25, 2025, the European Partnership for Personalized Medicine (EP PerMed) will launch the 2026 joint transnational call 'Personalized Medicine for CARdiovascular, MEtabolic, and kidNey diseases – CARMEN2026' under Horizon Europe with a total budget of approx. EUR 38 million.

The European Partnership for Personalised Medicine, EP PerMed, is a platform for the joint programming of regional, national and European research and innovation support activities that implement the “Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) for Personalised Medicine (2023)”, through dedicated funding for research, development and innovation.

The aim of the call is to fund multinational and innovative research projects in personalized medicine for patients with cardiovascular, metabolic, or renal diseases, promoting collaboration between academic, clinical, and private teams. Project proposals may focus on a single disease or explore these conditions in combination. Projects must address at least one of the following aspects: (i) innovative personalized therapeutic approaches; (Ii) monitoring patient response to treatment in order to personalize therapeutic pathways; (iii) early prediction of disease risk and prevention of disease worsening or comorbidities. Universities and research institutes, clinical and healthcare facilities, SMEs, and private partners, including non-profit organizations, are eligible to participate.

The deadlines set by the call are: February 10, 2026 for the presentation of the preliminary proposal and the June 9, 2026 for the complete proposal.
