Cluster 5 – Climate, Energy and Mobility aims to combat climate change through a greater understanding of its causes, impacts, and opportunities. In doing so, it aims to make the energy and transport sectors more climate- and environmentally friendly, more efficient and competitive, smarter, safer, and more resilient.
The calls for proposals dedicated to Destination "Climate" specifically focus on projects that can help fill key knowledge gaps on climate change and its impacts and risks, both on society and nature. They should also help develop tools to support decision-makers in designing and implementing effective mitigation and adaptation actions across different temporal and spatial scales, taking into account synergies and trade-offs with other policy objectives, such as a just transition, territorial cohesion, and the commitment to leaving no one behind.

Call – Environment/Atmosphere, HORIZON-CL5-2026-07, which provides for an overall budget of EUR 82 million for 5 callsThe deadline is set for the April 15, 2026:

- HORIZON-CL5-2026-07-D1-04: Fighting misinformation and communicating effectively on climate change (RIA) Maximum EU contribution per project EUR 5 million, 3 projects to be financed.
- HORIZON-CL5-2026-07-D1-05: Improving climate and weather models for Africa (RIA) Maximum EU contribution per project EUR 7 million, 3 projects to be financed.
