It is now possible to submit project proposals for the call Beautiful, inclusive and sustainable neighborhoods for communities, HORIZON-NEB-2026-01, for a total budget of €101.10 million.
The call falls within the scope of the New European Bauhaus Facility di Horizon Europe whose main aim is to support projects for the transformation of thetechnology built with a view to beauty, sustainability e inclusiveness, with the aim of making its inhabitants partners in the change for the realization of the Clean Industrial Deal and European Green Deal. Activities supported through the New European Bauhaus Facility aim to explore the contribution of the built environment to conservation and restoration of natural ecosystems, its relationship with urban, peri-urban or rural historical and cultural areas, improving social cohesion and a sense of belonging, as well as the health and well-being of individuals and communities.
The call in question presents 9 topics divided into three destinations:
- Destination – Connecting green transformation, social inclusion and local democracy: This destination explores how environmental and climate challenges can be addressed through innovative neighborhood-level approaches, while reducing socioeconomic inequalities and re-establishing a strong link between environment, people and democratic institutionsThis Destination emphasizes equality and ensures that the green transition does not occur at the expense of vulnerable groups.
- Destination – Circular and Regenerative Approaches for the Built Environment: this destination aims to make neighborhoods more sustainable, circular and regenerative, but also inclusive, accessible, affordable and beautiful, transforming them into places where nature and biodiversity can thrive, contributing to a better health and well-being for all, as well as clean air, soil, water and energy.
- Destination – Innovative financing and new business models for neighborhood transformation: This destination focuses on new business and financing models that can provide a framework for rethinking the way projects are conceived, planned, implemented, and financed.
The deadline for submitting project proposals is set for 1 December 2026.
