Climate, energy, and mobility: over €130 million available under Horizon Europe

It is now possible to submit project proposals for the new call HORIZON-CL5-2026-11 within Horizon Europe – Cluster 5 “Climate, Energy and Mobility“, destination “Sustainable, secure and competitive energy supply".

Cluster 5 – Climate, Energy and Mobility aims to combat climate change through a greater understanding of its causes, impacts, and opportunities. In doing so, it aims to make the energy and transport sectors more climate- and environmentally friendly, more efficient and competitive, smarter, safer, and more resilient.

The calls for proposals dedicated to Destination Energy specifically focus on projects that aim to combat climate change by better understanding its causes, evolution, risks, impacts, and opportunities, and by making the energy and transport sectors more climate- and environmentally friendly, more efficient and competitive, smarter, safer, and more resilient.

Under the HORIZON-CL5-2026-11 call, proposals can now be submitted for:

HORIZON-CL5-2026-11-D3-04: Reducing risks associated with renewable fuel technologies through pre-commercial transnational sourcing of renewable fuel industrial value chains (PCP)– EUR 40 million to finance a single project;
HORIZON-CL5-2026-11-D3-05: Demonstration of robust biofuel supply and conversion into highly efficient cogeneration from fully sustainable regional value chains (IA) – EUR 6.7 million per project; two are expected to be financed;
HORIZON-CL5-2026-11-D3-06: Resource assessment for deep sedimentary deposits and basement (RIA) – EUR 4.5 million per project; four are expected to be financed;
HORIZON-CL5-2026-11-D3-14: Optimized system design for innovative photovoltaic applications (EUPI-PV Partnership) (IA) – EUR 7.5 million per project; four are expected to be financed;
HORIZON-CL5-2026-11-D3-23: Data sharing to support the training and development of AI core models in the energy sector (IA) – EUR 10 million per project; three are expected to be funded.
